Reepham
The lovely historic market town of Reepham is just a couple of miles from the accommodation. A perfect distance for a country walk, as long as you aren't too tempted by some of the local produce for sale in the independent shops in the town. Reepham has a couple of lovely pubs and an award winning restaurant, The Dial House.
Blickling Hall
One of the jewels in the National Trust's crown is the breath-taking Blickling Hall which is an easy cycle ride from the holiday cottage. The stunning Jacobean house has impressive interiors, fine art and wonderful gardens and parkland.
Mannington Hall and Gardens
Mannington Hall, a scenic 6-mile journey from the cottage, has been continuously inhabited by the Walpole family since the 18th century. Although the house itself is rarely open, the gardens are well worth a visit and it is set in some of the prettiest countryside in the are, perfect for country hikes and bike rides.
Marriott's Way
Marriott’s Way is a 26 mile footpath, bridleway and cycle route, which follows the routes of two disused railway lines, and runs between the historic market town of Aylsham and the medieval city of Norwich.
Pensthorpe Natural Park
Nature lovers and bird watchers will find plenty to pique their interest at Pensthorpe Natural Park. Home to grey-crowned cranes, red squirrels and Hootz the owl, the park was crowned Norfolk's Best Large Attraction. It has over 7,000 acres to explore. It is located alongside the river Wensum there are lots of creepy crawlies to spy, so join the team on a bug walk through the woodlands and along the riverbed and lakes. Bewilderwood
This gigantic adventure playground is a welcome antidote to soft play parks: there are no grubby plastic balls here, just epic tree-high mazes, rope bridges, slides and zipwires. With face painting, crafts and interactive storytelling in bell tents and wooden shacks, it feels like a festival that has put down roots.
